As an Integral Master Coach™ I assist my clients to rediscover their joy and creativity. Humour and healing are important qualities I’ve grown to value and I draw upon my 20 years in the Animation Film business and more recently my practice as a Registered Massage Therapist since 2001. Also, cartooning has always been a part of my life plus I have annually offered an 8 week workshop called, “Keep the Humour in Healing.”
Integral Coaching® can help develop abilities to make sustainable change in your life, from being more productive at work, planning for retirement to developing skills to communicate more effectively with others or rediscovering that spark of creativity again. I approach life with curiosity, creativity and awe - a life-long learner. Usually laughing and smiling, I love nurturing the growth of individuals and teams. In 2010, I co-founded Leadership at Play, in service of developing leadership capacity and interpersonal dynamics through an ethic of play.
Immersed in leading numerous wilderness expeditions (Patagonia, Canada’s Yukon, etc.) I learned how to support the transformation of a group into a team and empower individuals to embrace their potential. This reinforced my belief in the power of learning from experiences and cultivating robust self-awareness. I bring this to my coaching.
I’ve had the pleasure to play with a variety of audiences – from NASA Shuttle Crews to Federal Land Managers to Googlers and non-profit Executive Directors.
I’m happily married, and love soaking in remote hot springs, exploring the backcountry by bike or skis, sketching, cooking and slowing down.
Who does a coach talk to when they are stuck? Who will listen to them as they listen to their clients?
Kate offers a space for Coaches to go for the listening and support they need as they strive to alleviate suffering in their own unique way. Whether stuck on where to go with a particular client or in need of personal or professional development themselves, each coach will find what they need in the heartfelt container Kate creates.
Since being certified as an Integral Master Coach™ in 2008, Kate has been passionately engaged in supporting Coaches. Over the years, she supported over 70 aspiring Apprentice Coaches in the role of Phone Coach and watched with enormous satisfaction and pride as many of them went on to become Integral Master Coaches™ in their own right. Certification students also benefited from Kate's expertise: she mentored a study group; provided feedback to countless students on their recorded conversations with their volunteer clients; and served as a member on a number of Certification Committees.
Kate loved all of this work, and, her passion for coaching Coaches crystalized when she began working with ICC Coaches who were not fully prepared to fly on their own once the Certification process was complete. Working with and supporting Coaches in formal development and edge plus coach development as coach, guide and mentor brought Kate fulfillment on many levels and inspired the creation of the Coaches' Coach's Corner.
Deeply steeped in the Integral Coaching® method and a skilled Integral Master Coach™, Kate understands and feels deep compassion for how lonely Coaches can be for conversations with someone who 'gets' them. If you are feeling that need to reach out and be held, Kate may be just what you need.
