Hi, I'm Rae.
I write things, coach creatives, and work with puppets.
I've always been interested in how to make money in meaningful ways.
This led me to work as a yoga teacher, a Thai yoga massage practitioner, an artist’s assistant, a sex worker, a beekeeper, a seamstress, a costume designer, a stewardess, a sailor, a dive master, a freelance writer, a marketer, a coach, and a puppet maker.
I think the most interesting work emerges when folx mix their experiences and skills together to create the unexpected.
I am a certified Integral Master Coach™ through Integral Coaching Canada® and have a BFA in Material Art & Design with a minor in Wearable Technology from OCAD University.
I subscribe wholeheartedly to Ernest Hemingway’s belief that, “In order to write about life first you must live it,” and I once walked for three months through half of New Zealand just to clear my head.

Welcome, and thanks for visiting. My work is to alleviate unnecessary suffering for the willing (including myself).

Beginning in 2015 I worked for just under six years as an ACM Phone Coach with ICC and I'm also a co-author of Coaching and Healing: Transcending the Illness Narrative (2016) with nine other Integral Master Coaching colleagues.
My most recent book, Healing America's Narratives: The Feminine, the Masculine, & Our Collective National Shadow, was released in October 2022, and was preceded in June 2020 by Enough with the...Talking Points: Doing More Good than Harm in Conversation. I'm fortunate to have an additional four poetry and four nonfiction books in print, and sent a copy of my 2018 Killing America, to each member of the U.S. Congress and the president (no discernible impact so far).
Before the time of COVID-19 my Connecticut location gave me access to the Greater New York City, including Hartford, White Plains, Stamford, and New Haven. I currently coach via Zoom.
My essential heart learnings continue to emerge from 3½ years as my mom’s primary caregiver, my sister’s 2009 suicide, divorce, and the deep love and humor I share with my stepson, Noé, wonderful friends and colleagues and countless other miraculous creatures.
A licensed Leadership Agility 360 Facilitator, I also hold a PCC credential and am a registered Mentor Coach with the International Coach Federation.
I'd love to chat and see if and how we might work together.

I bring over two decades of civil society experience to my coaching and facilitation practice.
My professional journey has taken me from my native city of Rotterdam to Bangadesh, India and Mozambique, working in various advisory and leadership positions for international NGOs and their networks of partners. I also ventured out into the field of academia and innovation labs working on strategies for social and environmental justice.
Now based in Austria, I continue to support civic leaders and organizations across the world, together with a small group of integral coaches and facilitators. With our companionship, we aspire to offer a blend of coaching, facilitation and consulting that is uniquely tailored to specific developmental edges and context.
I am also a proud contributor, associate facilitator, and trainer in the global Spring Strategies community.
When not at work, I love to play in nature, together with my partner Barbara our three sons.

Her primary focus is on how our constructs and filters interpret the reality around us. As an educator, clinical hypnotherapist and personal/professional development coach, Renate understands the role our mental aptitude plays in achieving success in all arenas of our work and personal lives. Companies, like families, are reflections of the beliefs and values of the people in them.
Renate has over 20 years of experience as an educator in the human potential field. She has a Masters in Leadership, 4 coaching designations, and a variety of other certificates. She has worked with leaders, individuals and teams in Canada and the United States. She is also an inspiring public speaker.
I coach people who desire more connection and a better understanding of themselves and others. I believe when people feel accepted, heard and seen, they are happier, better able to focus on work and are thereby more effective in contributing to projects and society. Are your relationships as rich as you would like them to be? How can you cultivate a healthier more supportive relationship to yourself so that you can have more impact in the world? How can you connect with others in a way where they feel more seen, valued and inspired? Together we can test your assumptions of what you think is possible in your relationships.
I work with people in person in Oslo, on the phone, or via Skype. I would love to meet you and help you move toward a broader, richer, new way of being and doing.
